Back-to-back wins extend Lady Wolves' winning streak to three games
The Lady Wolves extended their winning streak to three games with back-to-back home wins.
After snapping a two-game skid with a victory at North Crawford back on Jan. 27, the Wonewoc-Center girls basketball team throttled Weston 62-36 a day later and made it three in a row with a 58-44 defeat of Ithaca Monday night.

A solid effort on both ends of the hardwood helped the Lady Wolves coast to an easy nonconference win over the Silver Eagles.
Riley Nielsen knocked down 11 first-half points to help Wonewoc-Center forge a 27-18 lead over Weston at the break.
The Lady Wolves stayed hot in the second half, outscoring the Silver Eagles 35-18 to pull away for the win.
Nielsen scored a game-high 19 points to lead Wonewoc-Center, while teammate Nicole Totzke finished with nine tallies.
Shelby Justman and Faith Krueger added eight points apiece for the Lady Wolves, followed by Kailey Ertel and Alexis Peesel with six each and Lauren Johnson and Kenzie Snyder with three apiece.
Ertel paced Wonewoc-Center on the boards with nine rebounds, followed by Nielsen with eight, Peesel with five and Krueger, Totzke and Lauren Johnson with four each.
Justman got credit for five assists, while Ertel had three.
Defensively, Stacie Kopenhafer fueled the Lady Wolves with four steals.
Wonewoc-Center 58, Ithaca 44
A big second half helped the Lady Wolves pull away for their third win in as many starts.
Wonewoc-Center jumped out to a 31-25 lead over the Bulldogs over the opening 18 minutes of play and outscored Ithaca 27-19 in the second half to pull away down the stretch.
Justman knocked down a game-high 16 points for the Lady Wolves, while Kopenhafer, Nielsen, Ertel and Peesel finished seven points apiece.
Totzke and Lindsay Peters each added six tallies for Wonewoc-Center, while Krueger scored a pair.
Wonewoc-Center improved to 5-11 overall with the win.
The Lady Wolves are back in action Friday, when they host neighboring Hillsboro in a 7:15 p.m. Scenic Bluffs Conference contest at Wonewoc-Center High School.
A SBC game scheduled with Cashton on Jan. 30 was postponed last week, and will be made up on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7:15 p.m. at Wonewoc-Center High School.
