HILLSBORO - Bunny B. Winchell, age 79 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born on February 21, 1942 to Burley and Coral (Revels) Winchell in the Town of Whitestown, Vernon County, Wisconsin. He grew to adulthood in the Tomah area and graduated from the Tomah High School. Bunny served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.

Bunny was united in marriage to Janet Hatfield on October 11, 1963 in Harvard, Illinois. They lived in Illinois for several years, where he worked in electronics for Honeywell.

His calling then led him to the Maranatha Bible College and he became Pastor of the Hillsboro Baptist Church from 1981 until the present. While living in the Hillsboro area he was also plant manager at Hillsboro Footwear.

Bunny had several hobbies including painting, baking, riding motorcycle, leather work, jewelry making, collecting firearms and making ammunition. He was also honored to be Track Chaplain at the Tomah Sparta Speedway for several years.

Survivors include a special friend, Sue Gunn of Mauston; children, Sonya (Dirk) Kalber of Milford, Massachusetts, Daniel Winchell of Necedah and Beth Winchell (fiancé, Charlie Holmes) of Camp Douglas; grandchildren, Megan, John, Jerry, Vincent, Dale, Hannah, Micah, Olivia, Macylynn and Charles Jr.; step grandchild, Brooke; great grandchildren, Logan, Liam, John, Athena; step great grandchildren, Kaiden and Jayde; brother, Phil (Jill) Winchell of Stone Lake, WI and sisters, Ginger (Paul) Ellefson of Rochester, MN and Lana Winchel of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Coral; an infant sister, Eunice; wife, Janet on October 5, 2005 and daughter, Leanne Llewellyn.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Andy Buhrow officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
