CHARLES "CHUCK" KIEPERT

A brilliant spark was extinguished on October 6, 2022, with the passing of Charles “Chuck” Kiepert. From the moment Chuck was born at home to Clarence and Clarett Kiepert in Hartland, WI, he had “little devils dancing in his eyes.” Chuck graduated from Arrowhead High School where he met the love of his life, Bette, at a football game. He gave her one of his gloves and held her other hand with his gloved hand - a hand he continuously held for over sixty years.

Chuck was a professional die cutter, working at Lake Country Reporter/Hartland, Czarnecki Brothers/Milwaukee, and ultimately moving to Racine for employment with Doyle Handymark and Color Arts. There he worked for over thirty-five years, including many years as a supervisor.

Chuck was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, a passion he shared with his three brothers, son, various uncles, and several nephews. He passed down this passion to his grandsons as well. Chuck was a Green Bay Packer fan, and loved to camp with family and friends. He also enjoyed any type of competitive games, winning many trophies in horseshoes, dartball, and lots of money in poker!

Chuck’s greatest joy, though, was his family. He married Elizabeth “Bette” Ford on September 26, 1964, and they had three children; Donna, Chad, and Brenda, who each inherited those “devilish” eyes. Unfortunately for their mothers, Chuck’s three grandchildren also inherited that same trait!

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Bette, of 58 years; daughters Donna Jost and Brenda (John) Kiepert-Holthaus, grandchildren Wyatt Jost, and Noah and Maddie Holthaus; sisters JoAnn Brereton and Beverly (Bob) Williams; brother Bruce (Diane) Kiepert; and sister-in-law Nancy Kiepert. Also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and cherished him. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clarett Kiepert; son, Chad Kiepert; son-in-law, Ron Jost; brothers Clarence “Ernie” and Ted (Faye) Kiepert; and sister Barb (Harlowe) Lembke.
