Dorothy A. Durkee, age 100 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Elroy Health Services.
She was born on January 11, 1923 to Archie and Vernie (Frye) Worthington near Mount Tabor, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarence Durkee on September 6, 1941.
She lived in the Hillsboro area all of her life, where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She also enjoyed gardening and reading. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
Survivors include her children, Shirley Strait, Conrad Durkee and Greg (Cathy) Durkee; daughter-in-law, Vicky Durkee; 15 Grandchildren and many Great and Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence on September 5, 1972; daughter, Sharon Burch; son, Douglas Durkee; 2 sons-in-law, Melvyn Burch and Montie Strait; granddaughter, Jolita Durkee; grandson, Gary Towne; great grandson, Nathan Towne and siblings, Bessie Cole, Eva Bliss, Berlie Worthington, William Worthington, Bernard Worthington, Marlene Laack, Marvin Worthington and 3 infant brothers, Robert, Norman and Oscar Worthington.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. A time of visitation will be at the Church on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.
