Dorothy Teresa (Stepka) (Sinkule) Meuer, age 95 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro.

She was born on May 30, 1928 to Wencil and Rose Anna (Landsinger) Stepka in the Town of Greenwood, Vernon County, Wisconsin. Dorothy attended the Debello School and graduated from the Hillsboro High School.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard Sinkule at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Yuba. They farmed in the area until Bernard’s death on January 30, 1966.

Dorothy later married Donald Meuer on November 29, 1988. They lived in the Hillsboro area for many years. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2003.

She worked at the sewing factory in Hillsboro and also was a seamstress for the public for over 50 years. Dorothy enjoyed her flowers, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Bernard Sinkule and Donald Meuer, she was preceded in death by her Parents and siblings, Agnes (Edward) Mislivecek, Helen (Frank) Heidenreich, Elsie (Robert) Vodak, Marcella (Joseph) Escher and Wenceslaus (Marcella) Stepka.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating. Interment will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at Dilly. A time of visitation will be at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m. and a Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m.
