Darlene A. Sebranek, age 91 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.
She was born on July 12, 1934 in the Town of Greenwood, Vernon County, the daughter of James and Sophie (Vitcenda) Benish. Darlene graduated from Hillsboro High School.
Darlene was united in marriage to George E. Sebranek on August 20, 1952 at St. John’s Catholic Church at Dilly. They became parents to Therese, Randall, Mary, Brian and Ryan and resided in Hillsboro her entire life. George preceded her in death on March 13, 2015.
Darlene worked at various places throughout her life including, St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital, the Parachute Factory and Canning Factory in Hillsboro, Spring Valley at Union Center and County Market in Hillsboro. She also spent several years volunteering at the Good Samaritan Thrift Store in Hillsboro.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, which included four generations, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren. Other hobbies she enjoyed were gardening, taking care of her flowers, quilting and having lunch with friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary (Barry) Kessler; son, Brian Sebranek; son-in-law, Robert (Julia) Brand; daughter-in-law, Sandi Sebranek; grandchildren, Jo (Steve) Peterson, Jennifer (Tim) Steinmetz, Julie (Mark) Betthauser, James (Marie) Brand, Nicole (Dalton) Caira, Kaitlyn Hanson, Jade (Dustin) Oium, Jami (Daniel) Garces, Sophie Sebranek, Gabrielle (James) Gejfle, Maria Sebranek and Jack Sebranek; great grandchildren, Stephanie (Derek) Olson, Ethan Bartels, Matthew (Delany) Bartels, Ava Peterson, Brooklynn Steinmetz, Sierra Steinmetz, Henry Betthauser, Dylan Betthauser, Logan Brand, Brigg Oium, Ivy Oium, Bear Oium, Louis Gejfle, Talia Gejfle and Torreto Caira; great great grandchildren, Harper Olson, Rowan Olson, Harrison Olson, Aamira Bartels, Callum Bartels, Ezra Bartels and Lincoln Bartels; brother, Richard Benish; brother-in-law, Raymond Stanley and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, George; she was preceded in death by her Parents; daughter, Therese Brand; son, Randall Sebranek; son, Ryan Sebranek; sister, Delores (Robert) Kouba; brother, James (Shirley) Benish and sister, Mary Lou Stanley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 8th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church.
