Janice M. Housner, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Janice was born June 1, 1943, in Medford, WI., the daughter of Lyle and Beatrice (Schoonover) Haenel. She married Richard Housner on May 9, 1964 and together they raised a son and a daughter, Matthew and Brenda. Janice was a 1961 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended UW Lacrosse.
Janice was a very active person, she loved sports, the two she played the most were Bowling and Softball. When she wasn’t out playing sports, she enjoyed reading, baking, playing slot machines, watching Survivor and traveling, especially to the family farm up North. She was also an avid Brewer, Packers and Badger fan!
Janice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Housner; children, Matthew (Aliese) Housner and Brenda (Bryan) Holder; grandchildren, Tyler (Fiancé Abby) Housner, Kaley Housner, Nicholas (Tanner) Housner, great grandchildren, Jack, Callum and Cannon Housner; sister, Judith Shore; sister-in-law, Sandra (Anthony) Fronk; aunt of many nieces and nephews and dear friend to many.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Beatrice Haenel, brother-in-law Wendell Shore; Sister-in-law, Sharon Eastman; in-laws Ernest and Alice Housner.
