Katherine “Kathy” Marie Vodak, age 66, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin died on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 23, 1958 to LeRoy and Myra (Bartels) Johanning of rural Highland.
Katherine married David J. Vodak on September 10, 1983 in a double wedding with her sister, Joyce Vodak. They have two children, Jean (Casey) Kursave and grandson, Lee Kursave of Hub City and Paul Vodak and his fiancée (Jessica Estebo) of rural Hillsboro.
Kathy spent 44 years working for the Richland Hospital and Clinics, and retired December of 2023. She also spent many years farming at the Vodak Farms Inc. with her husband, Dave; sister, Joyce and brother-in-law, Bob. When she wasn’t working or farming you could find her outside tending to her flower gardens or inside canning. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and her grandson, Lee.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dave; her two children and her grandson; siblings, Joyce (Bob) Vodak and sons, John and Matt Vodak of rural Hillsboro, Don Johanning of rural Highland, Carol (Bob) Allport and children Leslie and Robert of Fitchburg, Dennis Johanning of rural Highland and Carl Johanning of Bullhead City, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Myra Johanning and her in-laws, Robert and Elsie Vodak.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Jacob Limpert officiating. Burial will be in the Czech’s National Cemetery at Yuba. A time of visitation will be at the Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
